No equipment is required to get started — we offer a wide range of mat-based content. That said, our platform also includes programming that incorporates equipment and small props to support effective cueing, variety, and client progressions and regressions.
Commonly used small props include resistance bands, mini stability balls, foam rollers, and cushions, all of which are easy to source online. Some of our go-to suppliers include Merrithew, Amazon, Canadian Tire, and Balanced Body.
If you’re considering larger pieces of equipment, such as Reformers, we recommend taking some time to research before making a purchase. Equipment preferences are highly personal — what you trained on may feel most familiar, and factors such as aesthetics, budget, and available space will all influence your decision. Both Elizebeth and Sarah use Merrithew equipment, though there are many excellent options available.
Tip: Don’t overlook local resale platforms like Facebook Marketplace, where you can often find high-quality used equipment at a more accessible price point. When purchasing second-hand equipment, be sure to check the condition carefully and confirm whether any manufacturer warranties still apply or may be affected by resale.
